Temp-Sonic
Temp-Sonic High Temperature Insulation
Temp-Sonic is a family of high temperature insulation from BIT. It is made from fiberglass blended with polyester or polypropylene, for use as thermal or acoustic insulation.
Where Temp-Sonic fits
Whether you need a moldable acoustic absorber, a substrate to support aerogels or other chemicals, or a flexible high performance core for a heat shield, Temp-Sonic is a strong choice. With more than 30 years of custom experience, every Temp-Sonic product is crafted for the specific customer and use. You do not pay for extra performance, carry extra weight, or design around a heat shield just because it was the only option in a catalog.
Common uses
- Heat shields for automotive engine and EV battery insulation.
- Thermal insulation for oil and gas pipeline wrapping.
- Moldable acoustic absorbers for high heat environments.
- Substrates for aerogels and specialty coatings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Temp-Sonic made of?
Temp-Sonic is made from 100% fiberglass, or fiberglass blended with polyester or polypropylene. A higher temperature version, Temp-Sonic HM, blends fiberglass with a 180 C melt point bi-component polyester.
How much heat can Temp-Sonic handle?
Temp-Sonic is engineered for high heat surfaces and is built to your operating temperature. BIT supplies thermal insulation for applications ranging from -300°F to 2000°F using specialty fibers.
Can Temp-Sonic be molded?
Yes. Temp-Sonic can be designed and molded to nearly any specification, which makes it well suited to heat shields and formed acoustic parts.
