High Temperature Thermal Insulation
High Temperature Thermal Insulation
When your equipment handles demanding temperatures, you need more than adequate insulation. BIT supplies top quality nonwoven thermal insulation for temperatures ranging from -300°F to 2000°F. We select the fiber and construction to match your operating temperature and environment.
Materials for extreme temperatures
We build high temperature insulation from polyester, aramids, fiberglass, Panox, viscose rayon, and other specialty fibers. Each material brings a different balance of heat resistance, weight, and flexibility, so the felt can be tuned to the job.
Where it is used
- Furnaces, kilns, and ovens where material safety and performance are critical.
- Heat shields for automotive engines and EV batteries.
- Thermal insulation for oil and gas pipeline wrapping.
- Carbonized insulation: some rayon felt is carbonized after production and turned into insulation for kilns and furnaces.
Quality and scale
Our materials meet SAE, ASTM, and UL fireproofing requirements. We scale from small trials to large production, with Just in Time delivery when you need material fast.
Temp-Sonic for high heat
Our Temp-Sonic family covers many high heat needs. It uses 100% fiberglass, or fiberglass blended with polyester or polypropylene, for thermal and acoustic insulation, and can be molded into heat shields and formed parts.
Additional Information
Bouckaert Industrial Textiles’ high temperature thermal insulation fabrics and materials are built to last. You can also specify the precise specifications of your materials in terms of thickness, weight, width or blend type. The typical tolerance capabilities include:
| Weight | 4 oz./sq. yd. to 500 oz./sq. yd. (200gsm to 17,000gsm) |
| Thickness | 040” to 2.5” (1mm to 64mm) |
| Width | Up to 11.15 ft. (3.4 m) |
*All our thermal insulation fabrics meet SAE standards. These include weight tolerances of ±10% and thickness tolerances of ±7%. We can also design to tighter tolerances if required.
No matter the type of nonwoven high temperature thermal insulation you require, Bouckaert Industrial Textiles has got you covered. We create quality heat and cold proof products from materials including:
- Polyester fiber
- Kevlar aramid fiber
- Pre-oxidied panox fiber
- Fiberglass
- Fiberglass blended with polyester
- Fiberglass blended with polypropylene
- Viscose rayon fiber
Each of these materials brings unique attributes of thermal insulation to your composite, facility and/or supply processes.
We also perform secondary services as needed after creating the parts. These can include:
- Laminating
- Singeing
- Sheeting
- Prototyping
- CNC Cutting
- PSA coating
- Heat setting
- Compositing
